How does a book
recommendation differ from a review?
Reviewed books are ones I’ve personally read and can offer opinions
about. Recommendations are books I have
come across or were submitted by authors that I have not read but may intend to.
Why do you have
recommendations instead of reviews only?
This blog showcases obscure books in the hopes of building
word-of-mouth for those deserving of more attention. My genre preferences or pace of reading would
limit the number of books listed here, if not outright exclude some. Ideally, recommendations will give readers
more novels to consider than reviews alone would allow.
What guarantee is
there that a recommended book will be a decent read?
None, unfortunately.
The
recommendations in this blog are not endorsements, but opportunities to
discover obscure ones that receive little exposure. That said, all recommendations are posted with a synopsis, rating
statistics as well as links to Amazon and Goodreads to help potential readers consider
whether the book is one they might enjoy.
